A city run venue means a documented process and a facilities team rather than a wedding coordinator. Load-in, power and insurance requirements are all written down, and they are enforced.
The upside is predictability. The thing to do early is get the certificate of insurance in, because a municipal venue will not let a vendor through the door without it and they will not make an exception on the day.
